Research log

A public record of the questions, source selection, rejected evidence, decision criteria, and update conditions behind this article.

Research Instruction

Explain male nipples through biology, physics, mathematics, cultural anthropology, and philosophy, and trace their treatment in art through original sources. Preserve the accessible form of a general Web article while retaining scholarly qualifications. This article is the integrated explanation of that investigation.

Environment

The model value above is fixed compatibility metadata required by repository checks, not a verified record of the model that wrote the article. The prompt link identifies a publication workflow reference, rather than the exact conversational instruction used here.

Investigation and editing

Earlier source files, authored articles, and mathematical-model records were cross-checked. The integrated explanation and art history installment were separated, with original-source links placed near important claims. English was synchronized to the canonical Japanese article, and reading alignments were derived from the finished text.

General mathematical models remain distinct from measured results. Object materials and dates, scholarly interpretations, and artists’ statements are treated as different kinds of evidence. Full source reproductions, superseded drafts, and private working logs are excluded from publication.

Adding conceptual explanations

Four conceptual figures were added to explain the four questions, shared human development, cross-sex genetic correlation, and mouse mammary-bud mechanics. Image text is localized into Japanese and English, using the same in-body figure component as the existing binding plot. SVG preserves lines and text when enlarged. Precise explanatory relationships were drawn as native vectors rather than produced with an image-generation model.

The developmental figure uses parallel male and female columns. The evolutionary figure states its general-model assumptions. The location and role of ring cells in the mechanics figure were rechecked against the saved original text by Trela and colleagues. Source notes document scope and schematic omissions. Original editorial figures remain distinct from experimental images and measured results.

Verification covers four new figures per language, the existing binding plot, seven equations, MIX rendering, image sources, rights, alternative text, and desktop and mobile presentation.

Verification scope and remaining limits

Publication verification covers equations and figures, source-link placement, language correspondence, and links between supporting pages. No independent human peer review or translation review is claimed. This publication pass is neither a new systematic review nor a reanalysis of original studies. The source notes retain the limitations of abstract-only material, a comparison treated as unreviewed, and museum sources that could not be directly archived.
